At the age of 10, Ruben opened at the Continental Club on rubboard with Leroy Thomas & the Zydeco Roadrunners in Austin, Texas, the Live Music Capitol of the World.
He then took to the road for the next decade playing with Thomas and C.J. Chenier. Moreno subsequently moved to the California Bay Area and was groomed by zydeco stalwart Andre Thierry.
In October 2011, Ruben released his first solo recording, 'Por Ti Volare' (For You I Will Fly) produced by Thierry.
Skyrocketing Ruben's career, the album earned him acclaim from many, including iconic ambassador Buckwheat Zydeco.
